From the President

Hello, STC members. Sadly, summer is ending, but my favorite times of the year are coming—fall and winter.

I have been a member of the STC for four years and have found it very valuable in making friends and contacts in Boise and the world. Please attend the meetings so that we can get to know you and so that you can get to know your council and the other STC members in the area.

Some of the goals we hope to accomplish this year are to create a ListServ for our chapter that members can voluntarily sign up for, revive our E-mentor program, and start a job shadow program that enables new writers to talk and meet with writers that are already writing in the workplace.

The STC-SRC council has some new volunteers that have been planning a great year for you.

Programs VP - Russell Willerton, the programs VP, has organized some great programs for this upcoming year. Russell could use some volunteers to assist him with planning and implementing the programs. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to present a topic at one of the meetings, please let Russell know. Keep checking the Events page of our website for information about upcoming meetings.

Membership VP - Teresa Sherman has the fun job of meeting and greeting new members and connecting them with current members. Contact Teresa if you want to know about membership volunteer opportunities or have questions about membership.

Treasurer - Kathy Hinds has done us a great favor by taking on the treasurer responsibilities for another year. We really appreciate Kathy donating her time and skills to managing our finances.

Secretary - Angela Fleischmann is doing a great job of tracking our meeting minutes, handling correspondence, and following up on our action items.

Employment Liaison - Darla Scott is managing job questions and postings for this upcoming year. If you are looking for a job or are an employer wanting to post a job opening, please contact Darla.

Web Content Manager - Jeff Carter has switched from managing the newsletter to maintaining our website. If you have any comments or suggested changes to our website, please send him an e-mail.

Newsletter Editor - Adrienne Martin has volunteered her time as our new newsletter editor. If you have any article ideas or articles that you have already written that you can share, please let Adrienne know.

Public Relations Manager - Kara Godfrey has volunteered to help us increase the public and business recognition of our chapter. Please let Kara know if you have any ideas or would like to volunteer your time to help assist her.

Please take the time to volunteer, to attend the meetings, to read the newsletter, and to just send us a hello. I look forward to meeting each of you at the meetings
