Upcoming EventsNovember MeetingThis months meeting will be on writing and editing for translation. This meeting is free and open to the public.
Webinars hosted by iLevel by WeyerhaeuserLevel by Weyerhaeuser (formerly Trus Joist, A Weyerhaeuser Business) is registered for the next upcoming STC webinar and is inviting chapter members and nonmembers to attend at no charge. The last November webinar is titled Selling Technical Communication Services-Both Inside and Outside Your Organization and will be held on November 22, 2006.
Several people attended the recent STC webinar hosted by iLevel by Weyerhaeuser on "Ten Ways to Increase Your Value as a Technical Communicator." Please note that the webinar on usability techniques scheduled for November 8, 206 has been postponed by STC until the spring.
Many of the Snake River Chapter members have attended STC webinars there
in the past and are familiar with the location (2910 E. Amity Road, Boise,
off Federal Way). Attendees can turn in at the Visitors Entrance
(just east of the large Weyerhaeuser sign) and park in that lot. The seminars
are held in a teleconference room just a few feet away from the front
desk, so visitors can sign in, get a visitor badge, and head right into
the webinar.
There is also a small cafeteria on site (entrees are about $4.50), or
people can bring their own lunches, and attendees can have lunch during
the webinar. Copies of webinar handouts will be available to all attendees.
Teresa Lipus would like a list of attendee names and a headcount for
people interested in the cafeteria lunch by the end of the day on Monday,
November 20, 2006. If you have questions about the time and length of
the webinar or would like to sign up, contact her via email at teresa.lipus@weyerhaeuser.com.
