Upcoming EventsDecember Meeting: Holiday PartyIt's time again for the chapter's annual holiday party! Well be meeting at Kit Browns house for the festivities. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, but feel free to bring more spirited drinks.
Also, please bring a gift for the White Elephant gift exchange. (For those of you unfamiliar with this practice, wrap and bring something useless, wacky, or silly. Be creative. No fruitcakes, please.)

January 19th e-Learning WorkshopOn January 19 the Willamette Valley Chapter of the STC and Portland State University will sponsor a workshop on e-learning, to be given by Jane Smith. The title of the program is Learn How to Develop e-Learning Tools.
In this dynamic workshop, Jane Smith shows how to determine both your organization's readiness for e-Learning and your own readiness to design and create it. The workshop will help you build the specific skill set needed to design and develop e-Learning tools. It will give you opportunities to practice and apply newly acquired knowledge and skills.

Certified Performance Technologist and instructional designer Jane Smith is currently the Manager of the Instructional Design SIG for STC and an independent consultant with her own company, JEM Communications, LLC. (www.jemcommunications.com).
She started her professional life as a teacher. That experience enables her to view every project from an end-user perspective: how they think, learn, and respond. An accomplished facilitator, she has more than 30 years of experience in training and teaching. Jane's projects have won several awards of excellence in STC's publications competitions and a Gold Award in Brandon Hall's 1998 Interactive Multimedia Training Contest.
